Riso e piselli per una piccola cuoca

Riso, piselli e carote.

"Dai mamma comprali ti prego, ti prego, ti prego".

Abbiamo lasciato cuocere fino quasi a cottura ultimata. Quindi abbiamo aggiunto i piselli ("Posso mangiarne un altro?" "Dai Ginevra basta.

Rice and peas for a little chef
Since I started this blog in my kitchen the strangest things happen
This is one of those.

I went to the grocery store with my 5 year old girl, just the sight of peas began to fidget.

"Come on mom buy them please, please, please. "
"No look, right now I have neither the time nor the desire to peel the peas. "
"Let's do this mom, I will peel the peas. Plus I do a recipe to your blog. "
And so I let myself be persuaded.

Geneva peeled peas (two peas in a bowl and one in the mouth) and once finished she says.
"Come on mom, take carrots, ham, onions, rice, broth and chocolate an we will do the blog. "
"Excuse me but what we are going to prepare?"
"A very good rice. "
"Oh great. What's his name?"
Geneva looks out the window. At last the sun is shining and the air is warmer.
"Rice sunshine".
"Beautiful name. I like it. Let's start."

And so my child has made this recipe. The ham is actually the bacon and chocolate, after a brief consultation, we decided not to put it, not to dirty the beautiful orange color (just a ray of sunshine!) of this wonderful risotto.

A chef is born.

Sunshine Rice

  • 300 grams of rice
  • an onion
  • 250 g bacon
  • 500 g peas
  • 2 carrots, grated fine
  • a stock cube
  • 5 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • a small piece of butter
  • a little chopped parsley

Geneva peeled peas, I have them cooking in water for a few minutes. In the meantime I prepared the broth with two liters of water and bouillon cubes.
In a large pot we fried the bacon in a little water and oil. Then we added the finely chopped onion.

Once the onion has become transparent ("Mammaaaaa throw!") We have added the rice that we left a little toast ("Give it turns turns that otherwise the rice sticks.") and then the broth to cover rice by about a finger.

We let it cook until almost cooked. Then we added peas ("Can I eat another one?" "Geneva it's enough.'re eating them all" "But they are too good. ") turn off the heat and add carrots, parmesan cheese, and butter ("and the chocolate ?" " Well, look what a beautiful color. If we put the chocolate will not be as golden". "Mmmmmh, yes I know that after it is no longer a ray of sunshine. " "That's exactly".)
Stir, sprinkling with a little parsley, and sit at the table.
